Since 2024, Eric Newman has been a dedicated champion for winter sports accessibility. In Canada, the average annual cost for a child to ski or snowboard exceeds $2,200, with equipment alone often topping $1,100. These high costs mean that children from lower-income households are roughly 25% less likely to participate in organized sports.
Driven by the generosity of the GTA community, Eric has successfully outfitted numerous young athletes, breaking down these financial barriers. Looking ahead, he is scaling his impact through the official launch of Project Alpine Echo in 2026. This initiative ensures the “joy of the slopes” isn’t a luxury, but an opportunity for every child.
