From Waitlists to Acceptance: Launching the Red Tulip Project for Autism

Dr. Temple Grandin famously noted, “The world needs all kinds of minds.” This principle inspired us to launch the Red Tulip Project in support of Waves of Changes for Autism.

In Ontario, roughly 1 in 50 children is diagnosed with autism. Behind this statistic are thousands of brilliant young people eager to learn. Yet, over 78 percent remain stuck on waitlists for the specialized classroom support they desperately need.

Awareness alone is no longer enough; we must take action toward true acceptance and inclusion.

Building accessible schools, funding community resources, and creating neurodiverse workplaces don’t just empower autistic individuals, they enrich our entire society. Every child deserves to be championed for who they are. Together, let’s break down these barriers and build an Ontario where every mind can shine.
